The Saariselan Tunturi Hotel Saariselka is made up of a combination of low-rise, sprawling buildings, set in woodland just off the main road in the small town of Saariselka. With some constructed of wood and others in stone, the buildings at the Saariselan Tunturi Hotel Saariselka are an eclectic mix of old and new. The main building houses a medium-sized, warm and welcoming reception, with a small seating area and interesting gift shop. The numerous other buildings at the Saariselan Tunturi Hotel Saariselka comprise family apartments and individual guestrooms, all named after animals found in the surrounding wilderness. The Saariselan Tunturi Hotel Saariselka is an excellent base from which to explore the Lappish countryside and move on northwards to North Cape.
** The hotel is currently undergoing renovation works on some of the rooms. The rooms being worked on should be closed off and are expected to be complete in June 2009.
